The heart of compassion is always demonstrated by the act. No one can say I have the heart of compassion when he or she does not have the commensurate action(s) to express the unseen heart. Last year, we joined hands together to get a few winter jackets from China for some homeless folks who gladly received especially in the District of Columbia (D.C.). The quality was outstanding! We stretched our hands of fellowship to as many homeless homes and homeless-on-the-street that could benefit from the largesse.
It is amazing that some of our partners have started asking for the gateway to show they actually have the heart of compassion. Not only that, but they have also seen this platform as a genuine way of getting their gestures across to those who need it. You and I sleep in the comfort of our homes, we have the heaters to use when it’s too hot or too cold. Some folks are living and sleeping on the streets. Yes, they might have jackets but we all know we don’t have just one jacket, the more the better especially with the quality of what we gave to them. It might just be your own little way of showing that you care for someone who would never be able to repay you back, someone who doesn’t know you, and may never meet with you. It is our yearly way of showing to those on the streets that we care. This year, however, we are trying to add winter mufflers and caps to augment the jacket.
It’s better to give than to be the given. We shall NOT lose our rewards. Our generations would never be homeless. to those who have found themselves on the street, we pray that your situation will improve and you would be agents of change in the nearest future.
